A final word, the customer service Chat feature is worthless. Even with 5,700 photos, it didn't take that long. However, once the photos were in the Duplicate Marked Photos folder, it was easy to scroll through and find the hearts, and then move them out of the folder. Also, it doesn't discriminate "favorites," and the "hearts" on favorite photos didn't show up in the comparison screen. I didn't, but I was so overwhelmed by the quantity of pictures, I rarely ever looked at them, so I was ok with that. The only think to be wary of, is that close matches are counted as duplicates, so I recommend adjusting the automatic settings to the higher end of the spectrum if this is a concern for you. I was able to eliminate 5,700 duplicates. The Photos/cloud combo is a menace which dumps multiple duplicate photos on all my devices.
